The UFC has never put on a show like this before.

The combat sports giant brought UFC 306 to Sphere in Las Vegas and after weeks of hyping the event, it mostly lived up to the hype with dazzling displays of graphics on the high-tech venue’s enormous screen.

Though much of the most extravagant (and expensive) production was saved for the pay-per-view main card, fighters were tweeting early and often about the Mexican Independence Day celebration event.

Commentator and former UFC fighter Alan Jouban compared it to something out of a video game, while several fighters simply called the show “sick.”

For an event headlined by a heated bantamweight title fight between champion Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili, and a flyweight title trilogy bout between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko, it sounds like the Sphere itself might be the most talked-about story of the night.
